At the initial meeting for your Central Queensland, Yeppoon or Rockhampton wedding you both must attend for the signing of the NOIM. If you wish, you can bring it to the meeting already filled out, but please do not sign it as I need to witness the signing. Should you live out of town, a NOIM may be completed and signed in front of a Justice of the Peace but it must be in black pen only. The NOIM can be signed 18 months prior to the wedding date and no less than 1 month before the wedding date.

You will need to provide evidence of name, date and place of birth, and divorce or death of spouse, if applicable. Acceptable documents are original copies of Birth Certificates, Passports, Name Change Certificates, Divorce Certificates or Death Certificates. You will need to provide driver’s licenses or passports for photo ID purposes.

If any of your original documents are in a language other than English, you will need to have them translated by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) at your expense.

If either party does not speak and understand English, a suitable interpreter will need to be provided at your expense for the signing of the NOIM, declarations, and for the marriage ceremony.

You will need to provide the full names of two witnesses who are at least 18 years of age. They must be attending the ceremony and be prepared to sign the wedding documents – marriage certificate, marriage register and presentation certificate.

You will both need to sign the declarations before the ceremony. Usually this is approximately two weeks or so prior to the day.

You will need to pay a $100 non-refundable deposit as soon as possible to secure the date. The balance of the fee must be paid prior to the ceremony.
